a lady sitting to my left had a startling, dry cough. for each cough, she would cover her mouth with her fist. using a fist to cover your mouth for a cough or a sneeze or a yawn is only a detour for the germs and/or breath. instead of escaping center stage, they escape to either stage left or stage right.
therefore, majority of the lady's dry, startling cough landed neatly on my shoulder and cheek.
